About Us
The West Hazleton Fire Department is a combination of volunteer and paid members. Our members are highly trained volunteers and paid operators who work 24/7 to provide fire protection and other emergency assistance to the residents of the Borough of West Hazleton.

We are here to serve the community through training our members in responding to multiple types of emergencies from structure fires, vehicle accidents, vehicle fires, to hazardous operations. Each member is trained in using specialized tools and apparatus to meet the necessary objectives of many incident types.

In addition, our goal is not just responding to emergencies for the public but to help educate our community about fire safety. The fire department holds pamphlets available to the public to help educate adults and young children the importance of fire safety and creating evacuation plans at home, in a business and schools.
